Now in it’s 40th year, this iconic event is a highlight of the summer season, is set in the most spectacular location and natural amphitheater in front of the beautiful Leeds Castle, reputed to be the loveliest castle in the world.
This year, The Central Band of the RAF opened the event in magnificent style. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra delivered another rousing programme conducted masterfully as ever by Artistic Director for the Classical Concert John Rigby. John was delighted to welcome on stage Soprano Katie Bird, who being a local girl received a tremendous cheer and Tenor Anthony Flaum who returned for the second year. The Patriot Girls also returned as part of a Battle of Britain themed musical celebration. They performed old favourites “White Cliffs of Dover”; “Long way to Tipperary”; “Pack up your troubles” and “We’ll meet again” and invited the audience to join in for a sing-along.
The audience waved their flags and were wowed with an air display by Aero Legends as a jaw-dropping 1940’s Spitfire took to the skies and the evening ended in style with a spectacular fireworks finale.
Join us next year on Saturday 14th July, for a truly memorable evening, you will be enthralled by world-class music, captivated by famous performers, and amazed by our fireworks finale – all this while you have fun with your friends sipping champagne.
